Reject McMahon's unqualified nomination for Education Department head

I urge you to vote against confirming Linda McMahon as the head of the Department of Education. McMahon has been a major donor to President Trump and has no experience in education policy or leading a federal agency. The proposed $20 billion in cuts to the Education Department's budget would devastate funding for public schools, teacher training programs, and financial aid for college students. Our education system is critical for developing an educated workforce and engaged citizens. Slashing its budget to reallocate funds towards expanding school choice initiatives is misguided and will only further widen inequalities. McMahon's WWE leadership role gives no indication she can effectively lead and improve our public education system for all students. Her corporate donor ties to Trump raise ethical conflicts of interest. Please reject this unqualified, ideologically-driven nomination that threatens to undermine public education nationwide.
