Impeach Barr now

Out of all the things this administration does on a daily basis that weaken our democratic institutions, this weekend’s shenanigans with the SDNY have me most alarmed. This district is one of the very few venues capable of holding the Trump regime, and its many disreputable tentacles, to account. Its independence MUST be protected. Attorney General Barr has provided many examples of his commitment to turn the DOJ into the president’s personal protection racket. I am urging you to act NOW, to bring him before the Oversight and/or Judiciary committee to testify as part of an impeachment proceeding. As this SDNY action shows, five months before an election is too long to wait to put a stop to this unprecedented obstruction of justice. The election itself is not safe when the DOJ head feels emboldened to shape the law in support of the incumbent, rather than oversee the executive’s enforcement of the law. Please do whatever you can to encourage Speaker Pelosi and your House colleagues to impeach Barr now. The republic can’t wait.
