Repeal 50-a

I would like to voice my support for the repeal of CRL 50-a. Police should be held accountable for their actions. In light of recent events, we need the legislature to act and prioritize police transparency. Police misconduct records should not be withheld from the people of New York State. Governor Cuomo has already committed to signing a bill repealing CRL 50-a. I ask you to let NY Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Speaker Carl Heastie know that New Yorkers WANT our state legislatures to reconvene session to VOTE on these important pieces of legislation. Your voters are demanding transparency. I implore you to stand up for what is right and demand visibility into the actions of those in uniform who are meant to serve and protect our citizens.
