An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Use existing facilities to fight the virus

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

My wife and I were having dinner with Rachel Maddow ( well, we were at home and she was on TV) and she showed a clip of a hospital being built in China in 10 days. We probably can’t do that here, but my wife pointed out there is lots of open space and abandoned buildings at the former Fort Ord. Couldn’t some of those buildings and space be used to create facilities to house and treat coronavirus patients or those quarantined? Gov. Newsom has authorized taking over hotels if necessary. You might want to mention the Fort Ord facilities and space as an option to him. We already have people quarantined at Asilomar nearby. We aren’t enthusiastic about the possibility of having more disease in our area, but the country needs to get moving quickly to contain the virus.
