I listened to your press conference this afternoon, and I have to say you’ve revealed yourself for who you really are: a mindless, Trump acolyte, willing to repeat and reinforce any lie Donald Trump tells. Your response to the question about absentee / mail in voting was classic Trump. “It’s not in the best interest of our State. It will open us up to all manner of voter fraud. I’ve said what I’m going to say about that.” Really? Please point out ANY instances of voter fraud related to mail in voting in Tennessee, Governor. I’m betting you can’t name even one. Vote by mail is a sure fire way to increase access to voting for untold numbers of Tennesseans, and you know it. Like Trump, you know opening up vote by mail will likely increase the number of Democrats who will cast a ballot in Tennessee. I’d like to hear you explain, in a factual manner, what evidence of voter fraud causes you to take a position so clearly against increasing access to the ability to cast a ballot. Stop parroting the worst President in the history of our country and start thinking about the rights of your constituents. Support the right of every Tennessean to request a mail-in ballot and to cast a vote for the candidate of their choice. You owe it to be honest to your constituents.
