An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Let International Students Stay

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I am concerned about the recent federal announcement that international students will be forced to leave the US if their institution only offers online courses in the fall. As a graduate of Purdue, I know that university is much more than just delivery of course content. Many students, if forced out of the US, will have difficulties accessing content, especially if they are from countries that regulate internet access. Many have no way of returning home due to travel bans in their home countries. The pandemic had changed all our lives. There is zero reason to add more chaos to the lives of international students. I urge you to take action to alleviate the harm being done to these people.
