An open letter to the U.S. Congress

weekly assistance during pandemic

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

As a deeply concerned and actively engaged constituent, I write to urge you to extend the federal $600 weekly assistance under the CARES Act until at least December 31, 2020. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, millions of Americans have lost their jobs. As you know, the $600 weekly unemployment supplement benefit included in the CARES Act is set to expire on July 31. Unemployed Americans and their families can't survive without this benefit. Congress must expand the weekly assistance until the end of the year and longer if necessary.
