An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Human Rights on our Southern Border

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

At this very moment, thousands of people are leaving the countries where they were born in Central America to escape deadly violence and persecution. In the past the US Federal Government would have given these people the opportunity to seek protective asylum here in the United States - instead we are now turning these people away. This is not the America I was born into. As one of your constituents, I insist that you oppose government policies and practices such as the "metering" of asylum-seekers at our ports of entry, the ridiculous and inhumane "Remain in Mexico" policy, family separation and family detention - these are not just cruel and capricious but are in violation of international law. Congress has the authority AND the responsibility to STOP Trump's abuses of power on our southern border. PLEASE ACT NOW! OPPOSE THESE INHUMANE POLICIES AND REMOVE THE PERPETRATORS FROM OFFICE!
