DO NOT LET TRUMP STRONG ARM THE USPS IN RAISING ITS RATES UNREASONABLY BY HOLDING ALL OTHER COVID-19 FUNDING HOSTAGE.
The USPS is a critical piece of infrastructure, and would be profitable without the utterly unreasonable requirement to prefund pension three quarters of a century in advance — something no other organization, private or government, is held to.
Part of what makes USPS so effective is they keep costs low to maintain access for all of us. They provide delivery services everywhere in our country.
They should be allowed to innovate, they should be allowed to bring back postal banking, they should look into new innovative services such as running municipal broadband service.
They are also a critical part of vote by mail, which is the only responsible way to hold the November elections in light of covid-19.
Don't just do the minimum to protect USPS, but go the extra mile to ensure it can thrive for the good of the American people.
