As someone with a 401(k), I’m deeply concerned about reports that the Trump administration may issue an executive order allowing retirement accounts to be invested in private equity. My retirement is on the line. Private equity has a track record of bankrupting companies like Toys “R” Us, Red Lobster, and even local hospitals. It is not transparent, it is high-risk, and it does not belong in the retirement plans of everyday Americans. I urge you to speak out and take action to protect retirement savings from being raided by private equity firms.
