Recommit to DEI and protecting Black history

To: Rep. Gleim, Sen. Rothman

From: A constituent in Carlisle, PA

April 7

The importance of protecting diversity, equity, and inclusion cannot be overstated. DEI initiatives foster a more just society that embraces the inherent dignity of every individual. A diverse workforce strengthens our ability to engage effectively with the global community by bringing a wealth of perspectives and experiences. Erasing DEI from institutions like the Foreign Service represents a profound step backward. Furthermore, attempts to diminish or erase the immense contributions of Black Americans to our nation's history and identity are deeply troubling. Black history is an integral part of our shared heritage that deserves to be celebrated, not ignored. We must reaffirm our commitment to fostering an inclusive society built on equality and justice for all.
