Investigate Elon Musk, his DOGE aides, and the corrupt contracting behind ICE's recent spending. Musk spent months restructuring the federal government, accessing Americans' personal data, and canceling grants and contracts. He promised DOGE would be "as transparent as possible." The last time he testified before Congress was 2011. That is not transparency. The ICE contracting scandal makes the case for hearings even sharper. ICE paid $495 million for a vacant prison whose owners had failed to sell it for $75 million the year before. That is not government efficiency. That is profiteering, and it demands a public accounting under oath. Musk is now the single largest donor to Republican candidates for the second straight election cycle, advising the Pentagon on weapons acquisition while his companies hold defense contracts. He has already threatened to retaliate against anyone who investigates him. That threat is itself a reason to move forward. Use every available tool of Congressional oversight to compel testimony, establish a factual record, and make clear that no one who wields public power gets to walk away without answering for it.
