Referencing President Trump's recent press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, the ongoing conflict in Gaza has led to immense suffering and human rights violations against Palestinians, amounting to ethnic cleansing. Despite just reaching a ceasefire after a year and a half of war, allowing Palestinians to finally return home to Gaza which is already mostly reduced to rubble, forcibly displacing them from their homes once more and involving US troops, as Trump has suggested, would only escalate tensions and exacerbate the humanitarian crisis. A peaceful resolution that upholds the dignity and self-determination of the Palestinian people must be pursued through diplomatic channels, not military force led by Trump. The US under Trump's leadership should refrain from any actions that enable further oppression of Palestinians and instead use its influence to promote a just and lasting peace, allowing Palestinians to rebuild.
