Deny/oppose the Save act. It is detrimental to voting rights of many including: -DPOC Applicants would be required to provide specific documents—such as a valid passport, birth certificate, or military identification—to register or update their registration. -Rejection of Common IDs: Standard driver's licenses; in many cases, REAL IDs would not satisfy the proof-of-citizenship as they do not specifically list place of birth. -In-Person Submission Requires these documents be presented in person, which would end mail-in voter registration hindering online voter registration in 42 states. -Impact on Specific Groups: requirements overreach affects approximately 21 million voting-eligible citizens who do not have ready access to a passport or birth certificate. Plus, an estimated 69M women who have changed their names after marriage birth certificates won’t match their current legal name - inhibits Voter Registration Drives suppressing votes -unneeded Stringent Voter Purges -unneeded Penalties for Election Officials -Private Right of Action
