Vote against any redistricting plan in Alabama that dilutes the voting power of Black voters, Democrats, and anyone who doesn't vote Republican. The state's current maps are designed to suppress opposition voices and lock in one-party control, regardless of what voters actually want.
Alabama is nearly 27% Black, yet proposed maps pack Black voters into a single district or crack them across multiple districts to minimize their influence. The same tactics silence Democratic and independent voters statewide through gerrymandering that guarantees Republican victories even in competitive areas. Federal courts have repeatedly found Alabama's maps violate the Voting Rights Act, yet the state continues to defy these rulings.
I expect you to stand firmly against these discriminatory maps. Support only redistricting plans that create at least two majority-Black districts and reflect the actual political diversity of Alabama voters. Fair maps mean fair representation for everyone, not just the party in power. Anything less is complicity in voter suppression.
