End the Electoral College: It’s Time for Math to Outweigh Maps The core promise of our republic is simple: one person, one vote. Yet, under the Electoral College, that promise remains unfulfilled. I am writing to urge you to support the transition to a National Popular Vote. Our current system is an 18th-century relic that effectively disenfranchises millions. Because of the winner-take-all approach, candidates focus exclusively on a handful of swing states, leaving voters in the rest of the country—regardless of party—largely ignored. This creates a tiered citizenship where a vote in a battleground state carries significantly more weight than one in a "safe" state. It is fundamentally undemocratic for a candidate to win the most individual votes across the nation and still lose the presidency. This isn't a partisan grievance; it’s a matter of civic equality. Every American, regardless of their zip code, deserves to have their voice heard equally. The presidency is the only office representing all Americans. It is time the election reflects the collective will of the people. I urge you to champion legislation that ensures the candidate who earns the most votes wins the office.
