I’m writing as a constituent to urge you to continue opposing the SAVE America Act.
This bill would create unnecessary and harmful barriers to voting by requiring Americans to produce documents like passports or birth certificates just to register. Many eligible voters simply do not have these documents readily available, and obtaining them can be costly and complicated.
In practice, this proposal would disproportionately impact seniors, young voters, married women whose names have changed, and low-income Americans. It would also undermine online voter registration, mail registration, and community voter-registration drives that help people participate in our democracy.
Voter impersonation fraud is vanishingly rare. Creating sweeping new hurdles for millions of legitimate voters is not a solution—it’s voter suppression.
I’m grateful for your continued work defending voting rights and protecting access to the ballot. Please continue to oppose the SAVE America Act and any similar legislation that makes it harder for Americans to vote.
Thank you for representing Washington voters and standing up for our democracy.
