I am appalled by the continued incarceration in El Salvador of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. The courts, including the Supreme Court, have ordered his return. There should be no barrier to his return. He was ordered there by the administration, who is paying the Salvadoran government to keep these men, and could therefore be easily returned. This should happen immediately! The president is disobeying court orders which is patently unconstitutional. Does this mean the Constitution no longer applies? Without the rule of law we all lose our freedom! When the president disregards the rule of law he is the only person who is free, all the rest of us are at his mercy. This is not America! This is not what my ancestors fought for in the Revolutionary War! They wanted out from under the monarchy. I want to stay free. I want myself and all of us to live under a system of laws that apply to everyone equally. I want everyone, documented or not, to have a fair hearing. I want a president who is strong enough to fix his errors. I want a country that acts with judgement and compassion. I don’t want my government to send people to a foreign prison and abandon them there. Bring back Kilmar Abrego Garcia as ordered by the Court and bring back the rest of them, too. We can jail and/or deport the real criminals after fair trials and hearings. Bring back true justice and the rule of law. The president swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. He must be made to live up to that oath.
