As a constituent represented by you, I am demanding that you to act immediately: Congress must declare, in binding law, that the United States military will never be used as a domestic police force or a political weapon. Recently, the President spoke of “using some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military.” This will turn American neighborhoods into combat zones and identify citizens as adversaries. It is incompatible with the Constitution and the rule of law. The Posse Comitatus Act was enacted to prevent this very abuse. Our armed forces defend the nation from foreign threats, they do not patrol our streets. The Insurrection Act is meant to be an extraordinary, narrow tool, not a blank check for the executive branch to deploy troops for political advantage. You must not allow federal forces to be normalized as instruments of domestic intimidation. Take concrete steps now: • Pass legislation that prohibits the routine use of federal military forces for law enforcement and requires explicit congressional authorization for any invocation of the Insurrection Act. • Require immediate notice to Congress, judicial review, and detailed public reporting whenever federal forces are deployed domestically. • Impose strict limits, sunset provisions, and enforce accountability for any unlawful orders or misuse of authority. This is not a partisan appeal. It is a defense of the Constitution and the civil liberties of every American. If Congress fails to act, future leaders will feel free to use our streets as training grounds and our people as targets. That precedent will outlast any single presidency. Now is the time to draw the line. Reaffirm civilian control of the military. Protect our democracy. Make it the law: America is not a battlefield, and U.S. service members must never be used to suppress or intimidate the American people
