Vote NO on HR 7661

To: Sen. Slotkin, Sen. Peters, Rep. Thanedar

From: A constituent in Hamtramck, MI

March 20

I’m writing to oppose H.R. 7661. This bill would pressure schools to remove titles that discuss lived experiences that some politicians find controversial. I don’t think trans people are controversial. Legal precedents such as the Miller Test and state-level obscenity laws already ensure that there are no inappropriate books on school shelves. It’s unacceptable to see so much time and effort be wasted on legislation that won’t do anything to help students learn and g row.
