Protect Citizens from Unlawful Surveillance and Data Abuse

To: Sen. Slotkin, Sen. Peters

From: A constituent in Beulah, MI

February 24

I urge you to oppose any law or policy that enables surveillance, harassment, or misuse of personal data against individuals. Such measures violate civil liberties, privacy rights, and freedom of expression. If data is misused to intimidate or harm citizens, authorities should have the power to regulate data brokers, prohibit sales, erase improperly collected information, and provide affected individuals the option of a clean slate. Michigan must not follow Florida’s example — protect citizens from unlawful surveillance and data abuse
