I am writing as a deeply concerned constituent to strongly oppose the recent military strikes against Iran authorized by President Trump. This action is a dangerous and reckless escalation that could draw our nation into another long and costly war — one that has nothing to do with our national interests and that we have no business becoming involved in.
As your constituent, I do not want to see American lives lost or taxpayer dollars wasted on a conflict that risks destabilizing an already fragile region. Moreover, it is troubling that these strikes were carried out without proper Congressional authorization, bypassing one of the most important checks on presidential war-making power. Congress must stand firm in its constitutional role to debate and authorize any use of force — and take immediate steps to halt further escalation.
Additionally, I urge you to advocate for a realignment of U.S. policy that is less driven by blind loyalty to Israel’s geopolitical agenda. It is past time that our foreign policy reflects the interests and safety of the American people first. Aligning ourselves too closely with Israel only increases our entanglement in conflicts that serve others’ purposes, not ours.
I am asking you to do all you can — including supporting War Powers legislation, opposing new Authorizations for the Use of Military Force (AUMF), cutting off funding for unauthorized military actions, and encouraging diplomacy — to stop this march toward war and put America back on a path of peace.
Please fight to ensure that we do not slide into another devastating war.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to hearing where you stand and what concrete actions you plan to take.
