I understand that the House Committee is considering a markup for KOSA, the SCREEN Act, Sammy's Act, and a slew of age verification bills that would open up my family to required face scans, ID scans, scams, phishing, hacks and leaks. These bills would also be a threat to national security, as hackers from hostile countries would exploit the insecure framework these bills create. Privacy, security, and free expression are not 'buzzwords'. The safety and freedom of millions is not a 'farce'. Not wanting my great-nephews and nieces to be watched by adults and exploited by predators in power is not a farce. If you vote for KOSA, the SCREEN Act, and these other bills or pass them as they are, I will consider you a threat to not only my family, but families across the nation, and I will encourage communities in my state to withdraw their support for you or any initiatives you support in the future. I cannot trust someone who cares more about getting photos of my family to let them access the Internet than to think about what these bills actually do.
