No data centers on Long Island

To: Sen. Schumer, Sen. Gillibrand, Rep. Garbarino

From: A verified voter in Ocean Beach, NY

May 24

We cannot allow data centers to be built on Long Island. The proposed brookhaven data center would be an environmental disaster. Our power grid is already overloaded, and costs would skyrocket even further. Long Island aquifers will be drained to cool machinery, depriving residents of clean drinking water. The visual and noise pollution will be inescapable. I urge you to keep this from happening. These data centers only serve to benefit their builders and investors, lining their already overflowing pockets. They consume natural resources at many times the rate of entire cities. Long Island residents and resources cannot bear the burden of this largely unnecessary technology.
