NPR reports per an NLRB whistleblower that DOGE has exfiltrated at least ten gigabytes of data for unknown purposes. This could be used to retaliate against workers in labor disputes, such as with Elon Musk’s companies.
Further, DOGE engineer Jordan Wick has a GitHub repository called NxGenBdoorExtract that he recently made private - NxGen is an in-house NLRB system.
Moreover, NLRB has been compromised to the advantage of Russia. Whistleblower Aid wrote on Bluesky: “The fact that only minutes after DOGE infiltrated NLRB systems someone or something within Russia attempted to log in using ALL of the right credentials could have destroyed the agency's infrastructure in a matter of minutes.”
And worse yet, the whistleblower was threatened with cartoonish mob tactics:
“Meanwhile, his attempts to raise concerns internally within the NLRB preceded someone ‘physically taping a threatening note’ to his door that included sensitive personal information and overhead photos of him walking his dog that appeared to be taken with a drone, according to a cover letter attached to his disclosure filed by his attorney, Andrew Bakaj of the nonprofit Whistleblower Aid.” - NPR
There is even more to this story, but to summarize, as Andrew Bakaj told NPR:
“If the underlying disclosure wasn't concerning enough, the targeted, physical intimidation and surveillance of my client is. If this is happening to Mr. Berulis, it is likely happening to others and brings our nation more in line with authoritarian regimes than with open and free democracies. It is time for everyone – and Congress in particular – to acknowledge the facts and stop our democracy, freedom, and liberties from slipping away, something that will take generations to repair."
