I’m writing as a concerned constituent to urge you to protect federal funding for public media, including NPR and PBS. These services are vital to millions of Americans, providing free access to trusted news, lifelong learning, and educational programming—especially for children and underserved communities.
Public media isn’t just entertainment; it’s a public good. It offers fact-based reporting in an age of misinformation, supports classroom learning, and ensures that rural and low-income families stay connected to the world. At a cost of just a few dollars per person each year, the return on investment is immense. Cutting this funding would be a blow to civic education, public safety, and cultural enrichment nationwide.
Please stand with your constituents and oppose any effort to reduce or eliminate funding for public media. NPR and PBS matter—to me, and to millions of others.
