As a constituent from Canton, I am writing with urgency to defend our constitutional right to protest, and demand the immediate release of Mahmoud Khalil, Badar Khan Suri, Rumeysa Ozturk, and other legal immigrants being punished for political views. It is unconstitutional for these lawful residents to be detained without charges or due process for exercising their First Amendment rights. This scary development of the administration revoking legal statuses is unprecedented, cruel, and flat-out unlawful and nobody should be staying silent on any of this. If they can be taken for exercising their first amendment rights, this can happen to any one of us. As a constituent, I urge you to hold this administration accountable for the horrors it creates on a daily basis, and to prevent it from revoking statuses without due process, a right given to all people on the land. This is not what the country stands for, and is only supported by a small minority of people who feel threatened. Please don't let them get away with what they're doing to completely innocent people.
