The United States is a nation built on democratic principles, the rule of law, and checks and balances between the three branches of government. No individual, including the President, has the authority to disregard judicial rulings or undermine the constitutional system. Respecting the authority of the courts and adhering to their decisions is a hallmark of a functional democracy. Signaling an intent to defy court orders erodes the foundational legal framework that has upheld American democracy for centuries. As elected representatives, we must unequivocally uphold the supremacy of the Constitution and reject any efforts to concentrate power by circumventing judicial oversight. The strength of our republic lies in its enduring commitment to the separation of powers and the equal application of the law to all citizens, regardless of political affiliation or personal interests.
