I am writing to express my utter disgust and heartbreak over what has become of the Republican Party’s so-called “leadership.” You have surrendered every ounce of congressional authority to Donald Trump, a man who treats our Constitution like a napkin at one of his banquets.
The destruction of the East Wing of the White House is not just an architectural tragedy, it’s a symbol of the wreckage your silence has allowed. Watching the legislative branch bow to a president’s whims feels like watching democracy itself crumble in real time.
Now, Trump has the audacity to demand $230 million from the Department of Justice in compensation for the federal investigations into him. You do not have the courage to say, “Enough.” That money belongs to the people of the United States, not to a so called billionaire who is supposed to be serving us!
And as if that weren’t insult enough, he is handing $40 billion to Argentina while Americans struggle with health care costs, housing insecurity, and a withering climate. I cannot understand how any responsible lawmaker could stand by and allow this kind of reckless misuse of our money.
You were elected to represent us, not to enable a single man’s delusions of grandeur. Your silence is complicity. Your obedience is betrayal. I want to see action—oversight, investigation, and accountability. Congress must reclaim its constitutional power before there’s nothing left of our Republic to defend.
I am angry. I am disappointed. And I am watching.
