Keep parental control with families, not databases

To: Gov. Hochul, Sen. May, Assembly Member Magnarelli

From: A verified voter in Syracuse, NY

May 11

I am writing to oppose proposals requiring online age verification. Parents already have tools to supervise their children's online access through device settings, content filters, and platform controls. Government mandates that require identity checks for everyone shift responsibility away from families and toward centralized data collection systems. Policies should empower parents without forcing the entire population to surrender sensitive identification documents. Please support family level solutions rather than mass verification systems.
