Block Visas for Flávio Bolsonaro and His Family

To: Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Casar

From: A constituent in Manor, TX

October 28

Block the visas issued to Flávio Bolsonaro and his family and demand an explanation for how this was approved in the first place. Bolsonaro fled Brazil after losing the presidential election to Lula da Silva, defying a Brazilian Supreme Court order to surrender his passports within 24 hours. He is under investigation for corruption, money laundering, and currency evasion, and his own father Jair was sentenced to 27 years in prison for attempting to overturn Brazil's 2022 election results. This administration has detained and deported countless people with no criminal record, no court orders against them, and no political connections. Bolsonaro gets a personal green light from the president because they are allies. That is not immigration policy. That is favoritism for the politically connected, and it exposes the entire system as selectively enforced. Congress must demand accountability for this decision. Who authorized these visas, under what legal authority, and what standard will now apply to others fleeing foreign court orders? The American people are watching, and this cannot be allowed to set a precedent.
