Reverse unwise elimination of successful Energy Star program

To: Sen. Gallego, Sen. Kelly, Rep. Crane, Pres. Trump

From: A constituent in Kearny, AZ

May 11

President Trump's plan to eliminate the Energy Star program is gravely misguided. This voluntary public-private partnership has saved American families and businesses over $500 billion in energy costs to date. Ending Energy Star would deprive consumers of a trusted source for identifying efficient products, costing households hundreds of dollars annually. The negligible budgetary savings do not justify removing a wildly successful initiative that slashes emissions and utility bills. Undermining Energy Star serves no public interest and exemplifies wasteful opposition to common-sense environmental protections. This unwise decision should be immediately reversed to safeguard consumer savings and further progress on energy efficiency.
