Stop the Trump administration from interfering with vote by mail

To: Rep. Pettersen, Sen. Bennet, Sen. Hickenlooper

From: A verified voter in Indian Hills, CO

June 24

As an American citizen and a voter, I’m strongly against the rule proposed by the Trump administration which would amount to a federal takeover of state mail-in voting systems. This is just another effort by Trump and his administration to seize more power and interfere in our free and democratic elections to keep eligible Americans from voting. Voting is a fundamental right and freedom which should be available to all eligible voters. Many of us choose to vote by mail, either because it is the most convenient or accessible option or, for some Americans, it is the only option. In 2024, nearly one-third of voters—tens of millions of Americans—voted by mail. Even Trump himself has voted by mail! These proposed changes could make it harder or even impossible for many of us to do the same. The USPS should keep its focus on its core mission of providing reliable, affordable, universal mail service—especially for all voting and election-related mail. Help protect our voters: Stop the post office from adopting this proposed rule. Thank you,
