Co-sponsor Rep. Jamie Raskin's No Taxpayer-Funded Settlement Slush Funds Act of 2026 and block the $1.776 billion fund created to compensate January 6 rioters. Officers Daniel Hodges and Harry Dunn — who defended the Capitol while rioters used chemicals, pipes, and stolen equipment against them in what the lawsuit describes as "almost medieval" combat — have now filed suit calling this "the most brazen act of presidential corruption this century." They're right. No statute authorizes this fund. It is constitutionally indefensible.
Even congressional Republicans have issued zero statements of support for this payout. That tells you everything. This money rewards groups like the Proud Boys and signals that political violence has a price tag — and taxpayers will foot it. Meanwhile, Trump has traded at least $220 million in stocks tied to his own policy announcements. The corruption is not subtle. Take a stand, pass Raskin's bill, and demand DOJ preserve every document related to this agreement before they disappear.
