No to school vouchers

To: Sen. Crowe, Gov. Lee, Rep. Hicks

From: A verified voter in Johnson City, TN

January 26, 2025

I am writing to express my concerns regarding school vouchers in Tennessee. I do not believe that school vouchers will be beneficial to the vast majority of students in our state. Vouchers will benefit families who are already economically privileged. Families who are disadvantaged will still be unable to afford private schools. Furthermore, I do not feel that private schools have the best interest of all TN families at heart. A growing segment of the population has no desire to have their children indoctrinated by the far right christofascist adjenda that you appear to espouse and promote. As a Christian, I do not see the teachings of Christ anywhere in the rhetoric that you and the Republican Party continue to push on our citizens. Our Founding Fathers insisted on the separation of Church and State for a multitude of very good reasons. I do not want my hard earned tax dollars being used to help you promote your adjenda. I will continue to use my voice and my vote to object and resist.
