You need to publicly commit, before November 3, that you will not participate in any attempt to deny duly certified Democratic members-elect their seats in the 120th Congress on January 3. Speaker Johnson is already laying the groundwork to replace House Clerk Kevin McCumber with a loyalist who will refuse to list Democratic representatives-elect on the clerk's roll — the same playbook Trump used on January 6, 2021, now aimed at Congress itself. Every court that has reviewed Trump's attempts to rig the midterms has struck them down as unconstitutional. The legal framework is clear: under Powell v. McCormack, the House cannot refuse to seat a member validly elected in a free and fair election on a pretextual fraud claim. But a constitutional crisis that drags through the courts for months would leave this country paralyzed and exposed. The time to stop it is now, not after the damage is done. Stand up before the election. Affirm publicly that government derives its powers from the consent of the governed, and that you will honor the will of the voters on November 3. If you won't do that, you are choosing Trump over your oath — and history will record it exactly that way.
