Investigate OPM seeking your health data and mine

To: Sen. Bennet, Sen. Hickenlooper, Rep. Pettersen

From: A constituent in Littleton, CO

April 9

CBS reported today (April 8) that the Trump administration is quietly seeking unprecedented access to medical records for millions of federal workers and retirees, and their families. I never heard about this and regulations.gov says the comment period on this (OPM Docket 2025-0206) closed on February 10. This is surely a HIPAA violation, isn’t it? I assume that you are covered by FEHB, too, so I expect you have concerns (as do I, a retired Federal employee who served the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service for 33 years, working in endangered species recovery). Please look into this, do what you can, and advise constituents like me of what we need to do to protect our rights to health privacy.
