I am appaled that another unqualified, dangerous nominee, Markwayne Mullin, is being allowed through the nominations process by Democrats. You all must demand an appropriate leader who cares about people, democracy, and Constitutional rights. You have an obligation to oversee the selection of these leaders and you must not lower your standards. You are what's between us and continued lawless federal officers terrorizing our streets. Take this seriously. Make sure your colleagues take this seriously. Do not sleepwalk us into authoritarianism. It will be much harder to fight to get our democracy back. You saw the damage that Kristi Noem caused and allowed. Do not put someone with anger management issues and hateful opinions towards immigrants, and unquestioning loyalty to Donald Trump in charge when you have the chance to insist on someone who will actually defend the security of our homeland against real threats. The administration is creating the threats with their lawless actions and you must stop them.
