Demand Investigation and Accountability for Epstein Associates

To: Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Walberg, Sen. Peters

From: A constituent in Stevensville, MI

February 4

The Justice Department's recent release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking operation reveals extensive connections between Epstein and powerful individuals, yet not a single person named in these files has faced criminal charges. This failure to pursue justice is unacceptable and demands immediate action. The documents detail years of contact between Epstein and prominent figures even after his 2008 guilty plea for sex crimes in Florida. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak maintained regular contact with Epstein for years following that conviction, including plans for a 2017 stay at Epstein's New York residence. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick visited Epstein's Caribbean island with his family in December 2012, contradicting prior claims he cut ties decades earlier. Steve Bannon exchanged hundreds of friendly texts with Epstein months before his 2019 arrest, discussing a documentary to rehabilitate Epstein's reputation. These are not casual acquaintances. The files show Steven Tisch received offers from Epstein to connect him to numerous women, with Tisch asking whether one was "pro or civilian." They document Sarah Ferguson seeking Epstein's advice in May 2011 on how to answer questions about their relationship, with Epstein suggesting she characterize him as "unfairly characterized as a pedophile." This occurred after his conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor. Virginia Roberts Giuffre and other victims have described being trafficked to powerful men. Giuffre specifically alleged she was instructed to have sex with Prince Andrew when she was 17. Yet the investigation appears to have ended with Epstein's death by suicide in 2019 and Ghislaine Maxwell's conviction for sex trafficking. I urge you to demand the Justice Department reopen investigations into individuals who maintained relationships with Epstein after his conviction, particularly those who visited his properties where trafficking occurred. These victims deserve accountability. Every parent in your district deserves to know you will fight to ensure powerful people cannot escape justice for exploiting children.
