As a constituent, I am writing to express my deep disillusionment and concern over the recent decision by the U.S. ambassador to Israel to attend Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s corruption trial, as reported by Axios on July 16, 2025. This act was not just inappropriate—it was a glaring signal of political partiality in the face of serious legal proceedings involving a foreign leader.
The U.S. should not be in the business of sending diplomatic representatives to publicly support an individual—especially one on trial for corruption charges. Doing so not only undermines the integrity of our diplomatic standards but sends a dangerous message: that we are willing to overlook democratic norms and the rule of law when it suits certain political interests.
It’s already hard enough to maintain public trust in foreign policy decisions. Incidents like this make it harder. I urge you to speak out against this breach of diplomatic neutrality and push for greater accountability and clarity in the conduct of our foreign representatives. The American people deserve a foreign policy grounded in principle, not political favoritism.
