End the government shutdown immediately and remove ICE agents from airports. Over 50,000 TSA officers have worked without pay since February 14, forcing many to take second jobs while absence rates hit 12 percent. The solution is not to deploy armed immigration agents but to pass DHS funding and pay the workers who actually do this job. Putting ICE officers in airports does nothing to solve security line problems. These agents are not trained for passenger screening, and their presence creates fear in immigrant communities while travelers still wait hours for flights. The union representing TSA workers calls them "untrained, armed agents who have shown how dangerous they can be." They're right. Federal agents just killed two US citizens in Minneapolis during an immigration crackdown. Many more people have died at the hands of ICE and Homeland Security. What are you going to do about this? This deployment is a political stunt that makes airports less safe, not more. TSA officers need paychecks, not replacements. Pass clean DHS funding now, get trained security professionals back to full strength, and keep immigration enforcement out of airport terminals and out of our communities entirely.
