There are currently two efforts to build data centers near my home in western Massachusetts, one in Holyoke and one in Westfield. We know that these centers cause significant health problems, noise pollution, and environmental degradation, and use incredible amounts of resources (water and electricity) at a moment when these resources are already stretched thin for the average person. These efforts to build data centers are classic examples of corporate greed taking precedence over the health, well-being, and capacity to enjoy life and pursue happiness of every-day Massachusetts residents. Please help us say no to data centers in Massachusetts. I am not interested in further enriching billionaires who recklessly run AI companies without any care about the pollution and waste they cause, and neither are many of my neighbors. I do care about protecting our natural resources, and investing in the future of humanity and our plant and animal neighbors. Please introduce or support legislation that would put a moratorium on all efforts to build data centers in the state, similar to what New York State has done. Thank you for your consideration.
