Investigate the double standard at the heart of this administration's war policy and demand that the Trump family lead by example. Jesse Ventura, a Vietnam veteran who completed Navy BUD/S training and served six years, put it plainly: "How can you send somebody else's kids to a war if you won't send your own?" That question deserves an answer.
The war with Iran has already killed 13 U.S. service members and injured hundreds more. Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Barron Trump are all of age and able-bodied. Barron is 20, six-foot-nine, and currently enrolled at NYU's Stern School of Business. There is no bone spur deferment standing in the way.
No family in America should be exempt from the costs of a war their father started. If this conflict is worth fighting, the Trump sons should be willing to fight it. I expect elected officials to say so publicly.
