The Speaker of the House Mike Johnson is derelict in his duties. He has decided to recess the House for the week to delay the vote on the budget. In light of the horrible murders in Minneapolis, the Senate is standing up to the administration by Democrats saying they will not vote to give Homeland Security more money. The House has already passed the legislation. If the Senate does not, the House must vote again. The deadline for this vote is January 31. Mike Johnson shut down the House for the week, which will make it impossible to vote. This will trigger another government shutdown. Homeland Security should not be funded any extra money. They should have their money taken away. This is a game of politics and the cost is American lives. This is unacceptable. You were elected to serve the American people and Mike Johnson shutting down the house is abdicating his job. Congress needs to act to stop the madness. Mike Johnson needs to be removed as Speaker of the House. He is only serving Donald Trump. And add much as he thinks Trump's election was a mandate, it was not. He did not win 50% of the vote. More Americans voted for Kamala Harris and other candidates than they did for Trump. More than half the people in this country did not want Trump to win. Yes, he won, but it was NOT a landslide. The American people will be voting again this year, and the majority of Americans are against what is happening. You need to do the job you were elected to do by your constituents. Stand up for America.
