Vote No on the Big, Ugly Bill
To: Rep. Jack
From: A constituent in Sharpsburg, GA
July 2
Hello representative Jack, I'm writing to you today to ask you to please vote No on the "big ugly bill." This is not a bill to help Americans. Too many will lose healthcare, access to rural hospitals, and food access. As someone who worked in the service industry for many years when I was younger I actually oppose the "no tax on tips" because the "wage" paid to servers in many states is less than the minimum wage so tips actual act as normal wages for many. It seems if the tips are making up their actual wage they should be taxed on that income just like anyone else. For those that make tips over their normal or minimum wage, then yes, there I agree with no tax.
We shouldn't be spending so much on trying to round up and force out hardworking, law abiding immigrants who are just people like you and I, trying to live a life without free and poverty here in the US. Let's use that money to invest in our communities instead of trying to dehumanize people who are just trying to survive this life.
So many more things to oppose but I want to keep this brief.
Please vote No!
