I am writing to urge you to support the Articles of Impeachment introduced by Congresswoman Haley Stevens against Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. His actions have endangered public health and violated his statutory duties in ways that demand accountability.
Secretary Kennedy has systematically dismantled critical health protections. He cut funding for lifesaving research including cancer research, childhood cancer research, studies on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and addiction research. He fired every member of the CDC's vaccine expert panel and hired David Geier, a vaccine skeptic who was disciplined for practicing medicine without a license, to reinvestigate the thoroughly discredited vaccine-autism theory.
The consequences are already measurable. Kennedy severely restricted vaccine access, withdrew federal recommendations for COVID shots for pregnant women and healthy children, and oversaw a panel that voted to drop universal Hepatitis B vaccination recommendations for infants. Modern medicine and vaccines improved child survival rates from 30% to over 98%, yet Kennedy is reversing these gains by spreading conspiracies and misinformation.
Kennedy broke promises made to Senate HELP Committee Chairman Bill Cassidy, pushed unfounded claims to limit access to Tylenol, canceled research on mRNA vaccines and vaccine hesitancy, and oversaw the closure of pandemic prevention centers. He politicized the FDA by calling it a "sock puppet" agency, created staffing shortages that limited the FDA's ability to fulfill public duties, and ended public comment for HHS rulemaking, which was widely opposed by public health advocates and transparency supporters.
These actions constitute abuse of authority and abdication of statutory duties. Secretary Kennedy has turned his back on science, driven up healthcare costs, and put American lives at risk. I ask you to support these Articles of Impeachment to protect public health and restore scientific integrity to HHS.
