I support DOGE’s efforts to cut wasteful government spending, as they’ve highlighted valid examples. However, eliminating the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), and Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is misguided. These agencies, with small budgets, fuel arts and humanities programs that foster critical thinking, cultural understanding, problem-solving, and personal growth in communities nationwide. They’re vital for educating children and enriching humanity, not wasteful spending.
I strongly oppose the proposed elimination of the National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, and Institute of Museum and Library Services in the 2026 budget. Their $708M budget is a small but vital investment. Please protect. these agencies and their funding in the upcoming budget.
