Investigate the corruption driving Trump's energy policy and its devastating cost to ordinary Americans. Trump promised to cut energy prices in half within 12 months. Instead, his war with Iran has raised petroleum product prices by roughly $75 a barrel, costing U.S. consumers an estimated $560 billion a year. That is not a policy failure. That is a transfer of wealth.
The oil and gas industry gave 88 percent of its 2024 campaign contributions to Republicans. Now, thanks to Trump's Iran war, oil-company stock prices have soared while workers pay more for their commute and farmers pay more for diesel. Trump's own response was to say, "We're making a freaking fortune." He is not talking about American families. He is talking about the industry that funded his party.
This is corruption with a price tag. Half a trillion dollars a year is being pulled from ordinary Americans and handed to the oil industry, and the administration openly does not care. That demands a serious investigation, not a shrug.
