An Open Letter

To: Sen. Bennet, Rep. Pettersen, Sen. Hickenlooper

From: A constituent in Arvada, CO

March 29

Thank you for standing strong and not giving in to fund ICE. I think TSA workers should be given pay, but other than that, do not allow DHS to reopen until meaningful reforms are made to ICE including no quotas, no roving patrols, only targeted detentions for people actually convicted of serious crimes, implementation of due process, and safe and dignified detention facilities. These are common sense criteria for any law enforcement in the United States of America, and ICE should not be exempt. Thank you. Stay strong. You saw the record number of people on the street for No Kings yesterday. The people are against what Trump is doing and will support you in standing up to him but will back primary opponents who say they will fight harder for the people. You must fight for the people and make sure people know you are doing so. Do not think that letting the problems continue will make people support you in the future, but be willing to speak about the problem and how you fought and your successes, so people know you care about your constituents, and they will support you.
