The creation of a government registry by RFK Jr's NIH tracking the private medical data of autistic individuals raises grave concerns about privacy violations and the perpetuation of harmful biases. While the intention may be to better understand autism, accessing confidential records without consent crosses an ethical line. Moreover, numerous scientific studies have conclusively disproven any link between vaccines and autism. Instead of seeking a "cure", efforts should be directed towards providing autistic individuals and their families with the resources, accommodations, and acceptance they need to thrive. We must prioritize supporting the autism community, not subjecting them to unwarranted surveillance and stigmatization. I urge you to reconsider this misguided registry and instead work to promote understanding, inclusion, and self-determination for autistic people.
